Nau Mai Haere Mai Whanau - Matariki Celebration Day

We are looking forward to as many whanau as possible to come along and join in on the fun at our Matariki Celebration day on Friday 30th June.  Check out the flyer for what's happening, or check in with your child's teacher.

The day begins with a celebration Assembly showcasing all the wonderful learning that has been happening in our classrooms for Matariki.

We will also plant our annual Matariki tree, this year we are planting a Karamu Tree out on the field which will be fabulous for future shade.  Our youngest and eldest student will plant the tree as it is being blessed and the school sing a waiata.

Term 1 Update

Kia ora whānau

What a fantastic term we are having so far.  Students are enjoying classes and exploring the world of Kiwiana as part of their Inquiry into what makes NZ unique.

Kapa Haka practice is going well.  Ngā Tupuranga will be performing part of their bracket on Saturday at the 'Wacky Water' Community day at Skoglund park.  The event goes from 12pm - 4pm down at Skoglund park with lots of things to do and it's all free.  Our senior team have been invited to perform from 12.30pm - 12.45pm.  Kids are coming down all ready to perform and dressed in their kākahu, meeting me at  12.10pm by the playground.  It should be lots of fun.

We had a fantastic time at our Mid Term Madness yesterday.  It was great to see whānau in classes from 2pm -3pm yesterday joining in on the activities and learning happening in our classrooms.  Our after school fun was a hit with all who attended too, games, activities out on the field, finished off with a sausage sizzle cooked by Mr Husband and Mrs How.  Our teachers had a lot of fun interacting with lots of whānau and our students.  Nga mihi to all who came down.

Wednesday Kapa Haka practice times:
ā Tupuranga:  11.30am - 1pm

Ngā Tipuranga:   2pm - 2.45pm
